Coronavirus small business grant fund and retail, hospitality and leisure grant fund
The Council is managing the payment of grants from the Government’s small business grant fund and the retail, hospitality and leisure grant fund, which will support businesses during the disruption caused by coronavirus.
If we do not hold your bank details and you fulfil the eligibility criteria below, you must submit your details using the grant claim form for your eligibility to be assessed and your payment processed.
Small business grant fund
Businesses who receive small business rates relief will be eligible to receive a £10,000 grant in 2020/21 on top of their existing relief.
Retail, hospitality and leisure grant fund
Businesses classed as within retail, leisure and hospitality sectors (including pubs) with a rateable value of over £15,000 and under £51,000 will be eligible to receive a £25,000 grant in 2020/21 in addition to their relief from business rates.
Businesses classed as within retail, leisure and hospitality sectors (including pubs) with a rateable value up to and including £15,000 will be eligible to receive a £10,000 grant in 2020/21 in addition to their relief from business rates
The Council will automatically identify eligible businesses from existing records and if you pay us by direct debit, we already have your bank account details and your grant payment will be made directly – you do not need to do anything. However, we will have to collect some further information from you retrospectively and we will contact you directly in those cases.
If it becomes clear subsequently that you were not entitled to the grant because you were not the ratepayer on 11 March 2020 or did not fall into one of the categories of eligible businesses the grant will be recoverable from you.
Who needs to pay business rates?
